The Glens Golf Group Hosts the World Amateur Golf Tournament

The Glens Golf Group, along with other Myrtle Beach golf courses will host participating golfers in the 31st Annual 2014 World Amateur Handicap Golf Tournament, August 25 – 29, 2014. All four Glens Courses: Heather Glen, Glen Dornoch, Possum Trot and Shaftesbury Glen will host golfers over the four day tournament and will be closed until 3:00 pm each day for tournament play.

Shaftesbury will be hosting the World Am on the following dates:

  • Monday, August 25
  • Tuesday, August 26
  • Thursday, August 28

Possum Trot will be hosting the World Am on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, August 26
  • Wednesday, August 27

Heather Glen will be hosting the World Am on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, August 26
  • Thursday, August 28

Glen Dornoch will be hosting the World Am on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, August 26
  • Thursday, August 28

 Myrtle Beach has been home to the World Am Golf Tournament for 31 years. Each year the tournament grows in popularity with amateur golfers, and this year tournament officials expect more than 3,000 golfers from 20 different countries to participate.

The World Am is open to all golfers 17 years old and above with a certified USGA handicap or foreign equivalent. Golfers are flighted by closely grouped handicaps. The tournament features 72-holes of intense stroke play competition, an 18-hole championship playoff round, prizes, gifts, nightly parties and entertainment.
