Shaftesbury Glen Golf Course Renovations

Shaftesbury Glen Golf and Fish Club in Conway, SC is closed for extensive renovations; the course closed to begin renovations on December 26 and will reopen on March 1, 2016.

During this time, Shaftesbury will begin extensive drainage upgrades to the fairways, improve course layout, add 251,00 square feet of waste bunkers and extend surrounding lakes to come more into play.  Some of the many greenside bunkers will also be changed to grass bunkers to help with difficulty.

The goal of the renovations is to improve the drainage, which will alleviate cart path only and enhance the overall look and feel of the golf course.

“We are excited to begin this upgrading process at Shaftesbury Glen,” said course General Manager Ryan McCarty, “We feel this work when completed will make our course even better in terms of playability and will enhance the overall experience of our customers.”

Shaftesbury Glen, which was named the 2009 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association, is one of the few remaining courses in Myrtle Beach which still offer bent grass greens.

Come by the first to see the new upgraded course this Spring, and enjoy the best greens in all of Myrtle Beach.  We will post new pictures of the changes when the work has been completed.
